The India Today Group-MDRA Sex Survey, the only study of its sort, is entering its eleventh edition. After a hiatus of 10 years, it has once again probed shades of female sexual experience. And the response of over 4,000 women and men, from across 19 cities, calls for a re-examination of all that we thought we knew about female libido.

It's time to break old stereotypes. The rule of thumb in the politics of mating has always been that men are naughty by nature while women need to be coaxed into sex. But in our survey this year, there's no Mars and Venus in the bedroom: If 64 per cent men insist on having sex despite a reluctant partner, 60 per cent women also do so. Here's another measure for pleasure: If 91 per cent men find sexual encounters joyful, so do 90 per cent women. The number of women who found fulfilment in sex was just 54 per cent in our 2003 survey.

India Today 2013 SEx Survey Highlights

• Among the surveyed cities, extramarital sex was most prevalent in Chandigarh (35%) and Kolkata (31%).
• Mumbai (31%) has the highest proportion of those who had sex before the age of 18, followed by Guwahati (21%) and Delhi (20.4%).
• Indore (90%), Chennai (68%), Jaipur (63%), and Pune (60%) presented themselves as most conservative cities where, premarital sex is considered as wrong.
• Chennai, Mumbai and Kochi are the cities where more than 90% of male respondents said that they expect their wife to be virgin at the time of marriage.
• Hyderabad (35%), Chandigarh (30%) and Kochi (28.5%) topped the chart in terms of having sex daily.
• More is the income among urban people, higher is the importance of sex in life.
• 96% of the males who have never married said they would not accept woman in their life who admits she had a premarital sex.
• Majority of the male respondents from Bangalore (74%), followed by Chandigarh (59%), Pune (50%) and Ahmedabad (44%) says they would love it, if their partner masturbates in front of them
• As per the male respondents, Katrina Kaif (15%) is the most sexually attractive and hottest personality, followed by their respective wives/fiancee(11.7%).
• 44.5% of the males said that Saree is the most favorite attire for women.
• As per the male respondents, most attractive feature (36.5%) in women is breast.
• Among the surveyed cities, majority (more than 50%) of the female respondents from Ranchi, followed by Chennai, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Jaipur says chest hair is the most attractive feature in man..
• 74.3% of the female expect their husband to be virgin at the time of marriage.
